Antonio Barrantes of La Planada tends to his coffee in Costa Rica’s West Valley, where the land and environment are respected as much as the craft itself. At 1,500 MASL in the micro-region of Lourdes de Naranjo, Antonio grows the Typica Lima variety, processed using the honey method at the Herbazu mill. The result is a well-balanced cup with fruity notes of red apple and pear, and a soft citrus undertone.
