Costa Rica 95 is a variety developed by Costa Rica's coffee institute, bred from Timor Hybrid and Caturra, but it's not grown in Costa Rica. It travelled south through Colombia, landing in Nariño where volcanic soils and altitude above 2,000m draw out a complexity other varieties in its family rarely reach. Pablo Guerrero grows his at El Obraje in Tangua, hand-picking each cherry before 30 hours underwater and 9 days on raised beds.
